After re-watching The Lie, a few thoughts and questions...
- Ben seems genuine when speaking to the butcher, Jill, when he tells her to lay off Jack after she makes the comments about his taking pills. I also thought it was very interesting that Ben says that if she doesn't keep Locke's body (presumably) protected, that all they are about to do is for nothing -- Locke is certainly special, for those thinking that it may not be the case. He may not be special in ways we have hypothesized, but he's certainly special and important to the scheme here.
- Have our 815 survivors ever possibly run into Neal's scorched body during their time on the island? Presuming that the flaming arrow scenario is in the past (I think a safe assumption), his body would have either been there when they arrived/were exploring, or have been moved in between the two periods (which could potentially have been a very long time, but still, I immediately wondered upon re-watch). He, and the unnamed survivor Juliet is putting sand on when Sawyer grabs her are the only (I believe) survivors who have died mid-time travel, and though I don't believe he (Neal) is important in the slightest (I think he was there simply for Arzst purposes), it's something to think about.
- During his conversation with the butcher, Ben asks if Gabriel and Jeffrey have checked in yet. Do we know who these people are/have we heard these names before??
- Sun says, in her conversation with Kate, that her baby is in Seoul with her grandmother, so I'm not sure if/how they are going to bet her back to the island (the child).
- How does Ben avoid the stakeout outside Hurley's parents' residence? He says, "I have a car waiting out back." but that seems just too blah. I don't think there's any more to it, but I immediately thought, when Hurley threw the Hot Pocket at him, "How did he avoid the cops that are about to arrest Hugo...?" He says the police didn't see him come in, but I'd like to know how. They also don't see him standing in the doorway while they are arresting Hurley, and he presumably escapes the same way he arrived...
- So, we've still got 2 living soldier fellas with Sawyer, Juliet, and Locke, correct? Locke hit two in the face with what appeared to be rocks, and knifed the third in the back. Hopefully we'll get some answers on exactly who they are next week.
