In the scene where Hurly brings Sayid to his house, he and his Dad lay Sayid on the red couch; he is still on the couch when Hurley’s Dad goes outside to talk to the police. But when he comes back into the house, Sayid is laying on a red felt covered pool table; and then he tells Hurley to help him move Sayid to the couch – the red couch Sayid was on before Hurley’s Dad went outside. What was that all about? Continuation error?

no they took him from the entrance hall to a small room so that LAPD cant see them.
Then they took him back.
