Widmore has and will, turn on the others. They are setting this up perfectly. So far only a small unit from the US Military has arrived on the island. But eventually when Hanso/Dharma arrives, Widmore will use this opportunity to get back at alpert for not giving him leadership, or something like that. Widdy shows hanso where the others are weakest which allows them to attack, buying enought time to build the Dharma initiative on the island. Hanso sets widdy up with some serious cash and a stake in the venture and there you have the set-up for the whole "Dharma vs others" mythos.

Good observations. I like the duality of it. But it does beg the question of how Hanso fits into this. He was such a central part of the whole island mythos in season 2, but has only popped up in the ARGs since then. Maybe this is the Ben v. Widmore season, and Hanso will reappear in season 6.

let us not forget the season 4 mention of Tovard Hanso, first mate of the Black Rock or something like that. or wait i think he kept the journal Widmore bought.

How do the Others get all their money? They seem to have operatives all over the world - are they a cult or have they been playing the lottery with future knowledge of the numbers? the numbers ha ha ha
