No, as far as we know they didn't have a history together. Mikhail said that he came to the island 11 years prior when the losties first encountered him in 2004, Danielle came to the island in 1988.

I don't think so, but just the mention of his name has given me hope that with the time travelling, we'll see just one more resurrection of Patchy :D

I don't think he was part of Rousseau's team. She mentioned Montand, but I didn't hear Mikhail. This may be unrelated to the topic, but I do think Mikhail was part of Dharma and that he worked in the Arrow Station. He was very good at Special Forces from his days in Russia, the Arrow Station was designed for protecting Dharma from natives, and the glass eye found there was a reference to him.

Any thoughts?

Tho I would not be at all surprised if at some point the Left Behinder's don't run into him at an earlier point, perhaps when he was still wearing the glass eye. Before he joined with Jacob and had to become "pure" by leaving behind his aesthetic enhancements. =D
