Besides the episode title, "This Place Is Death" being a quote by Charlotte, what else could it reference?

My thinking is that relates to what Danielle experienced with some of her team being attacked by Smokie and the other team members dying. Okay, she helped (a little) in that last regard. But, who else could it have meaning for? Does it apply to Locke also?

Locke's descent was what i connected the title with, since it screamed "journey to the underworld"/Hades to me, and was quite literally a place of death. the whys and wherefores of life and death surrounding the island are so intriguing, particularly who goes when (why someone *has* to die, why someone else isn't allowed to do so, etc), and the way it's used as a source of power over individuals. but yeah... underground creepy place = death to me..
