TPTB never showed us where Charlotte was going when she was time traveling. When/where had she been when she woke up calling the island "Death"? Had she been at the purge? When/where else did she go?

I'm pretty sure she left before the purge or she would have died a long time ago. I also think that the oceanic 6 are the ones who are gonna warn Dharma about the Purge saving quite a few important lives, including Charlotte, maybe Miles and perhaps, perhaps, some of the losties themselves?

When:
I'm guessing her consciousness traveled to various points throughout her own life. We had several lines that portrayed her as a child. "I'm not allowed to have chocolate before dinner", etc. But then there were several lines that seemed as if she were a teenager or in college. "Turn it up, I love Geronimo Jackson" and something to the effect of, "My mother would never approve of me marrying an American."

Where:
Dharma days as a kid, but the question of where she traveled to for the college sounding lines is a good one. The line about marrying an American leads me to believe that we may actually see Charlotte again - perhaps in some sort of flashback if there are ever to be flashback episodes again.

The death line is interesting. Perhaps her conciousness somehow went to the future? Something else possessed her at that time? She is talking specifically to Jin about not bringing "her" back, doesn't seem to have much to do with her own life/conciousness traveling, but rather a warning about Sun or Ji Yeon. (I'm leaning towards Ji Yeon.)

I think there is a big difference between the mental time travel as seen in The Constant and the physical time travel we are seeing now. I don't believe Charlotte's consciousness actually went anywhere. Instead, the mental stress of being bounced back and forth through time has scrambled her mind. She is not actually traveling to these points in time, a la Desmond, rather she is remembering them in a confused state of mind.

I agree. There is no evidence that she was time travelling just before she died.

I agree that the the time traveling consciousness shown in "The Constant" is different than the time traveling that we are seeing now. But I disagree that Charlotte is not doing it. On the freighter, that guy (Mankowitz? sp) was nose bleeding and talking gibberish while his conscious traveled through time. Then Des started doing it and I think that is what Charlotte is doing.

I would agree with that.
Minkowski: "I was on a ferris wheel"
Or something to that effect.

Here is how I see it. Charlotte and the other losties are traveling physically through time. It is different from Minkowski and Desmond. But right near the end she starts traveling mentally like Minkowski and Des. I am convinced that Daniel recognizes this and writes it down in his journal and somehow affects Desmond coming to the island so he can change the past. Daniel has experience with the Mental TT as we know from Eloise the rat and from Theresa, I don't thin that it is too much a stretch that he may have had some experiences with Physical TT. Anyway back on topic, I think that Charlotte traveled to various points in her past and probably to her future. The whole Idea of "Course Correction" seems to me to equal alternate timelines.
100%
I've given this more thought. If Charlie was to die saving Claire from drowning. Then someone else had to disable the Looking Glass. Therefore creating an alternate timeline. I guess through Course correction the timelines merge at some point but, allowing for different things to happen. Charlotte is supposed to die on the island, but when and where are a consequence of course correction.
