View Full Version : What do you think about this?
singingm2 02-19-2009, 01:53 AM - You don’t think it means something that somehow we’re all back together?
- We are on the same plane, it doesn’t make us together.
I guess Kate realises that not everyone on that plane goes back on the island for the same reason. Some may have their own agenda.
ManOfScience6 02-19-2009, 01:55 AM That is exactly how I interpreted her statement as well. Although a lot of people seem to think that was directed towards Jack.
Or that not everyone wants to go back to the island at all, they are being forced. Which I think is why she is going back because someone has Aaron.
Desmundo 02-19-2009, 01:59 AM Something obviously went down with Kate, where did she go after her night with Jack. And yeah, Hurley is def hiding something too, probably a Charlie encounter considering the guitar. Sayid was in cuffs, and we know it's not easy to apprehend that fella, so something's up there. Dude behind Jack in line is suspicious as well, and the lady leading Sayid around was too good-looking to be an extra.
Devera 02-19-2009, 01:59 AM It was certainly a dark line, and it very much stood out for me. It's worrisome, too. Basically, the philosophy of our team has been Jack's philosophy--live together, die alone. Kate is telling him that the team isn't together, and that she's not really with Jack. It's just bad news all around for them if that is the case.
singingm2 02-19-2009, 02:01 AM it wasn't directed towards Jack
it was general as was what Jack had told her just before (that he feels that they - hurley sayid, sun, kate, jack - were back together as a team)

I respectfully disagree that Kate wasn't including herself in that statement. I think that she was saying that no one is really with Jack or backing him up as a leader, despite what he thinks. The group isn't together on the plane--they're all in the same place but showing up separately for their own reasons. It doesn't mean that she doesn't care for Jack, but I don't think he realizes that she isn't really on the same page as him and has her own reasons for going back for the island, just like the other '06 passengers do. I believe something terrible happened to her between when we last saw her and she showed up at Jack's place.
We'll have to wait and see, though!
Pink Human 02-21-2009, 09:39 PM Kate's comment seemed to be a foreshadowing of what's to come--we are going to see all sorts of divisions between now and May (and possibly season 6.) Jack isn't prepared for this, however, since he's still in awe that all of them were on the plane. He's not picking up on the fact that LITERALLY they are all together but FIGURATIVELY they are far from each other.
Jack (and Locke?) will have to find a way to unify them, find something that binds them to each other that is more important that their own reasons for finally choosing to be on Flight 316.
Halcyon 02-22-2009, 12:54 AM I'm not sure really how omnimous Kate's statement was supposed to be... at first I took it to mean that "just because we're all here together doesn't mean we're playing for the same team" type of thing... but after I rewatched it again, I'm wondering if the line was more of a clue to tell us that just because they are all on the plane together, it doesn't mean they are going to the same destination...
Jack/Kate/Hurley are the only ones we saw flash off the plane (and as far as we know they are back in 1970s Dharma-era)... we don't know what happened to Ben/Sun/Sayid/Lapidus yet, but as I've mentioned in other threads, I think the Ben/Sun/Sayid/Lapidus crew actually landed that jet in 2008/present time on the airstrip we saw them building in S3. Ben had the foresight that he would be returning to the Island, so he had the runway built..
