"Let's face it the Ewoks suck dude"

Yes they did.

Loved it! I love any and all Star Wars references! :fight1:

Though there was a slight mistake - Luke got his hand cut off before he found out Vader was his dad, not because he found that out.

haha loved the smirk Miles gave when Hurley was making the comparison.

Luke losing his hand, just like.... Marvin Candle, i mean, Dr.Chang?

Yes, one of my favorite scenes of the show. You knew it was going to be good when Hurley asks how to spell "bounty hunter" at the beginning.

And man, am I the only one who kind of has a soft spot for the Ewoks?

That was good. I liked Hurley's Ewok's suck.

Those two carried the episode. Good character developement of Miles, but it's tough to do cartwheels over the episode since it follows Dead is Dead. I think it suffered just a little from having to follow that epi.

Loved Hurley in this one.

Yah, that was a very funny scene but Hurley did make a point.

Oooh, I never thought of that. That's a very good point, RA.

Good point about Luke's hand and Dr. Chang's arm, realityaxe!

I don't mind them! They are way better than Jar Jar, that's for sure!

Hee hee, I liked the Ewoks since I was a little girl, although I do get picked on about it from just about everyone.

Star Wars exchange felt forced to me - the writing, not the acting. It felt like filler.
But as far as acting goes, Leung especially brought his A-game to this one. Dang I like his character!

I'm all primed to post in the Neutral Thread on this episode, but Karri still has us locked out. Maybe, like me, she's a little less enthusiastic than seasons past.

Well, since Lucas claims to have had this whole grand vision of the prequels from the start, Ep.1, 2 & 3 could totally be Hurley's fault. lol

I loved this part as well, I was missing Hurley's comic relief, and Miles just adds to the comedy.

"Chewbacca raised his fury hand in the air..."
"It's furry. It needs to be spell checked"

Only that sweetheart Hurley would rewrite The Empire Strikes Back so that Luke and Darth Vader don't fight but instead sit down and resolve their issues.

I know, it's so Hurley.

The fact that was mentioned earlier, that his interpretation and memory of the scene was incorrect, just illustrates his point of view. He just wants people to talk to each other and be all friendly...brilliantly illustrated by his son-with-daddy reconciliation attempts.

I thought it was a cute little touch that they brought back that Hurley can't spell. We saw that in the very beginning of the series when he misspelled "bodies." It doesn't really matter, does it? As a flaw goes, spelling issues is so trivial compared to some of the things folks have to deal with.

Anyway, I'm a Star Wars geek and loved all the exchanges. I was nodding at all the analogies, especially the part about communicating (although, to be honest, I don't think it would have fallen out as Hurley was hoping it would if Luke had sat down to have a chat). I know Star Wars is a big influence on LOST, and this episode highlighted some of the parallels--the daddy issues, for example--but in a very entertaining way.

Right when he asked how bounty hunter is spelled, I KNEW he was writing Empire. The title suddenly made sense! I couldn't stop laughing for about 2 minutes. I love the idea that Hurley will send the script to Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas, them sitting there and saying, "Hey. That's not half bad". And then reading the part, "Luke, I am your father", and both of them looking at each other and saying "Oh my god. THIS IS BRILLIANT".

I like that Hurley "fixed up the Script" so as to save the world from those horrid little fury Ewoks.

I'm afraid my Star Wars knowledge isn't up to par here. I only saw the first 3 movies and it's been many yrs, time for a rewatch I guess. I missed the SW era somehow, don't know what I was doing back then.

This season sure seems to be requiring a lot of homework! To be able to fully understand and appreciate the intricate storylines, you have to do some follow up work after each episode. Thanks to all of you for filling in the blanks for me.

These writers are amazing. I'd love to see the outlines and notes that they used to create and plan out the entire series. They probably have their own form of LOST shorthand.

I forgot to say on this particular thread that I also like the Ewoks...but if Hurley wants to diss them, I'm fine with that as long as it leads to such excellent Star Wars exchanges.
