Hola, Javi!

I just read the interview CBR did with you about your new book "The Middle Man," at

http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=5136

and I was really impressed with you not just as a storyteller, but as an all-around person too!* You gave up co-ownership rights to the artist you're working with just off of GP, gave great support and praise for everyone you're working with, always show this message board alot of love, and what you mentioned about comedy in stories working once you've established a solid foundation in setting and character shows you've got a great respect and knowledge of the artform (so did the first 8 pages of your book which were previewed in the article, as well as your work on a certain TV series I'm currently obsessed with)!

Plus, you're Latino, and Caribbean Latino at that (I'm of Cuban descent, so there's the bias, heheh).

You're living an awesome life in which your 9-5 is helping to tell a great team's awesome story on TV, and then your side-job is creating your own universe in story to put out there too!* By the way, the interview revealed that you indeed are a world-creator, as you already illustrated an encyclopedic knowledge of the characters and world where "The Middle Man" plays out.

Keep doing your thing, as you're offering crumb-snatchers like me who are still feeding their storytelling faculties baby-food a great example to look up to!

Peace,

PhiLOSTopher

thank you so much for all of your praise - i truly appreciate it!

i hope you enjoy the middleman when it comes out - hopefully if we get enough sales we will do a second miniseries - and that will take place in a world near and dear to my heart (and maybe yours, depending on how old you are and how much telelmundo you watch! - it's going to all be about feuding masked wrestlers - an homage since i grew up watching santo movies on puerto rican tv!)

thanks again, i hope we continue to entertain you -

Thanks for replying Javi!

I'll definitely be looking forward to MiddleMan, and the (hopefully) second series with Lucha Libre action! That's a great scene to visit, and probably filled with characters at least as fantastical as the ***-monster in MiddleMan's first issue, heheheh!

I also read recently that there may be a Lost comic book that extends (and doesn't rehash) the story to include other characters who's lives are being lived in tandem to the lives we see on the TV show! I hope you get to write for those comics too, and I love the idea (I loved it when they did it with "The Animatrix" and "Enter the Matrix" too for the "Matrix" trilogy, but I find myself to be in the minority on that one, it seems...even though Link is now on Lost as Michael!).

Thanks again, and I look forward to your continued storytelling!

Peace,
