View Full Version : Best Lines
Merch 05-06-2009, 10:06 PM Locke: "I would like you to take me to Jacob. Can you do that?"
Richard: "Yea, of course."
Locke: "Fantastic."
Made doubly fantastic by Locke saying that he's going to kill him. Awesome.
kbnha5 05-06-2009, 10:08 PM Ben: (eyes super wide open in slight panic) Who is that man John?
Locke: Me
Diesels Blitz 05-06-2009, 10:12 PM "Who the hell is Hugo Reyes?"
"The fat guy." :)
Merch 05-06-2009, 10:13 PM That half of the episode had arguably the better lines, outside of Hurley and Chang's conversation.
"I'm starting to think John Locke is gonna be trouble."
"Why do you think I tried to kill him?"
Ben had a few good looks in this episode. Michael Emerson's acting with out lines is great.
LostLaura 05-06-2009, 10:28 PM Ben definitely had the best lines this episode. I was also fond of all the Suliet-y lines.
"Love is complicated" is a good one too.
mysticdark1 05-06-2009, 10:35 PM "its a 12ft, 500 pound bomb of course not" Richard smartmouthing Jack
Merch 05-06-2009, 10:51 PM Richard smart mouthing was good. What I found funnier though was when they showed the jughead bomb on some Other constructed, soap box derby car, type rig.
"I'm not afraid of anything you can do now Ben."
"Well in that case I'd love to come."
NBC001 05-06-2009, 10:53 PM We'll by stock in Microsoft and become millionaires.
Nemo
Dan23X 05-06-2009, 10:55 PM "Good riddens"
TickyBox 05-06-2009, 10:58 PM Chang: What year were you born in? What year?
Hurley: 1931
Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: Yeah. Yes I am.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There's no such thing.
Chang: -.- Who is the president of the United States?
Hurley: Alright dude we're from the future.
kbnha5 05-06-2009, 11:18 PM I think Ben's final look of utter dumbfoundnation has to count as a line, right?
hahahah definitely!
Sawyer: "I want my lawyer"
lostmio 05-06-2009, 11:22 PM Hurley ftw! Best lines of the season, imo.
Perfect delivery, too. Jorge rocked it!
Chang: What year were you born in? What year?
Hurley: 1931
Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: Yeah. Yes I am.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There's no such thing.
Chang: -.- Who is the president of the United States?
Hurley: Alright dude we're from the future.
Merch 05-06-2009, 11:29 PM hahahah definitely!
Sawyer: "I want my lawyer"
I think they could have plugged in something else here:
"I was tortured by a jin-you-ine I-raqi...you do your worst Stu."
They wouldn't know what he was talking about, but we the fans would.
To me, this one was another flaming bus line. And I didn't like the flaming bus line. Seemed like a forced bit of humor they were trying to inject into the dialogue. The Lawyer line wasn't as bad, I just think there were a few other options they could have went with instead.
ZoeWashburne 05-06-2009, 11:30 PM Chang: What year were you born in? What year?
Hurley: 1931
Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: Yeah. Yes I am.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There's no such thing.
Chang: -.- Who is the president of the United States?
Hurley: Alright dude we're from the future.
Yes, this was awesome!
I also loved when Sawyer called Juliet sweetheart. Girly, I know, but I just about melted.
Pink Human 05-07-2009, 12:02 AM Best unspoken line goes to JULIET when Kate comes down into the sub.
lockesmithe 05-07-2009, 12:06 AM The Hurley-Chang skit was a very funny moment. Jorge delivered that last line perfectly.
Pink Human 05-07-2009, 12:09 AM Also, the reason Sayid gives Jack for coming along for the swim--can't remember it exactly but it was classic broody Sayid.
ame en peine 05-07-2009, 12:10 AM Chang: What year were you born in? What year?
Hurley: 1931
Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: Yeah. Yes I am.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There's no such thing.
Chang: -.- Who is the president of the United States?
Hurley: Alright dude we're from the future.
My favorite interaction this season, this was just hysterical.
Especially when you remember that Hurley was freaking out on Day 1 at the Dharma Registration building thinking they'd ask who the president is... They were like, no one's going to ask you who the president is - don't worry!!
Hunkyhurley 05-07-2009, 12:12 AM Especially when you remember that Hurley was freaking out on Day 1 at the Dharma Registration building thinking they'd ask who the president is... They were like, no one's going to ask you who the president is - don't worry!!
ITS NOT A DAMN GAME SHOW HUGO!
lol that was by far the best convo this episode!!
dpayne82 05-07-2009, 12:17 AM It wasn't said, but the subtle look that Miles and Jin have after Hurley and Chang say:
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There's no such thing.
Merch 05-07-2009, 12:18 AM ITS NOT A DAMN GAME SHOW HUGO!
lol that was by far the best convo this episode!!
That's what I liked, it circled back to Namaste. Classic
Pythagoras99 05-07-2009, 12:19 AM I can't believe no one's said the real best line yet:
"I'm going to kill him"
(I'm so glad I wasn't spoiled for that. I saw there were spoilers out, but I resisted.)
Merch 05-07-2009, 12:25 AM Me too, I avoided them.
That was a great line/dialogue set up. The look on Ben's face to end the episode was priceless.
Hunkyhurley 05-07-2009, 12:38 AM "real world, i dont even know what that means anymore"
terri013 05-07-2009, 11:31 AM ITS NOT A DAMN GAME SHOW HUGO!
lol that was by far the best convo this episode!!
Loved that convo! I thought back to "Namaste" also. I had to rewind and watch the convo a few times I loved it so much.
khopzilla 05-07-2009, 11:39 AM Chang: What year were you born in? What year?
Hurley: 1931
Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: Yeah. Yes I am.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There's no such thing.
Chang: -.- Who is the president of the United States?
Hurley: Alright dude we're from the future.
This was a perfect call back to in "Namaste" when Hurley asked all these questions and Sawyer told him, "it's not a game show"!
lmao.....yes Sawyer, it is a show full of games.
Madge 05-07-2009, 11:43 AM Best unspoken line goes to JULIET when Kate comes down into the sub.
Absolutely! I didn't see this thread yet and made one saying that my favorite line was Juliette to Kate - "why won't you just die already!". It was said with her eyes.
Monster Eats The Pilot 05-07-2009, 12:10 PM I personally loved finding out Radzinsky's name is Stewart (at least I don't think we've heard that before)
Lost Ed 05-07-2009, 12:21 PM "I was tortured by a jin-you-ine I-raqi..."
Maybe we need to start a new thread each week.. Best Lines that Weren't.
Cause that line, Merch, would have been fantastic.
Best unspoken line goes to JULIET when Kate comes down into the sub.
Absolutely!! I first saw daggers in her eyes, then her eyes turned sad...No lines needed..beautiful acting by Elizabeth Mitchell!!!
BillToons 05-07-2009, 12:29 PM "Previously on Lost"
Gets me going every single time.
Merch 05-07-2009, 12:32 PM Maybe we need to start a new thread each week.. Best Lines that Weren't.
Cause that line, Merch, would have been fantastic.
That's a good idea Ed. Next week.
The finale is next week right? Or are they putting in another buffer week in the season?
Lost Ed 05-07-2009, 02:02 PM That's a good idea Ed. Next week.
The finale is next week right? Or are they putting in another buffer week in the season?
Next week. A buffer @ 8, 2 hour finale @ 9.
Now That I Think of It: Back in 1977, I don't know for sure that Radzinsky would have a clue what getting tortured by a genuine Iraqi would mean!!
Cause that's after the Korean war, right???
But we would. However, Radzinksy would get his mug added to the "What" youtube video. That thing cracks me up.
RAD24 05-07-2009, 04:05 PM RICHARD: This man walked into camp and put a gun to my head, and Eloise... reacted.
And
LOCKE: Ben, I'd appreciate it if you'd join us.
BEN: What, John, don't you trust me here with my former people? Afraid I'll stage a coup?
LOCKE: I'm not afraid of anything you can do anymore, Ben.
BEN: Well, in that case, I'd love to come.
Plus the whole conversation with Hurley and Chang, that was just hilarious.
Merch 05-07-2009, 04:24 PM Thanks for the info LostEd. I'm glad it's on next week, but weren't the previous years finales on later in May?
That is a funny video too. Radzinsky could fit right in there.

Michael Emerson and TOQ are great on screen. I'm really hoping for a large chunk of minutes to go them in the finale.
Pythagoras99 05-07-2009, 04:56 PM "I'm going to kill him"
Correction: "So I can kill him."
The delivery was perfect too. So grim and determined. Like he has some blood-feud with Jacob all of a sudden. Far-out, man.
100%
Also, "So I'm going to go see Jacob. Right now. And I'd like all of you to come with me."
Merch 05-07-2009, 05:55 PM I thought Locke would have deflected Ben's question away with a Why are you so interested? or something, but he just laid it on him. Ben's look reflected back the shock of us all, I think. I know it did me.
Not only an answer, but that Locke is going to kill him. Gotta say, not having seen Jacob yet, my money's on this new Locke.
Pythagoras99 05-10-2009, 07:03 PM Jack: "You can't go back there... They tried to kill us."
Kate: "And what are you trying to do?"
I also loved Sayid's delivery of his line, "Why did you do that," when they told him that they saved Ben after he shot him.
glotis 05-10-2009, 07:22 PM Sayid, the voice of reason:
Jack: "she's the one who's gonna tell us how to get back to the Island"
Sayid: "And that makes you trust her?"
Sayid: "Well, if this works, you might just save us all. And if it doesn't? At least you'll put us out of our misery"

CharliesHeroin 05-10-2009, 10:33 PM when that comes on- everyone in my house knows that there needs to be complete silence for a full hour ! lol

Genetrix 05-10-2009, 10:46 PM HAHA- my boys are old enough to they know they have to be asleep or at least quiet in their room on wednesdays, and my husband knows not to bother me.

Hopefully by season 6 your then 18 month old will love to sleep ( boy or girl?)
Aww! Congrats on your not-yet-six-month-old. I'm sure he/she will fit right in. :D
thanks Genetrix!
lostmio 05-11-2009, 12:56 AM I also loved Sayid's delivery of his line, "Why did you do that," when they told him that they saved Ben after he shot him.
ooohh, yes, that was a Keeper, too. loved it, just loved it.
Sayid can say more, using fewer words, than anyone else on this show. Naveen always delivers gloriously...
Dezdemona 05-11-2009, 06:20 AM I think they could have plugged in something else here:
"I was tortured by a jin-you-ine I-raqi...you do your worst Stu."
They wouldn't know what he was talking about, but we the fans would.

Sawyer is never very funny in Sarnoff episodes.
nynaeve 05-11-2009, 06:02 PM Chang: What year were you born in? What year?

I agree.
