"He asked me! He asked me!"

Long-time Python fan. My son just finished studying "Julius Caeser" in English. I asked him if they performed it on an Aldus Lamp. He got the joke.

I'm a Philosophy student - my teacher is a "Lost" fan, although, sadly, very few of the students in my class are also fans. He wants us to do an experiment - form our own society. "Commune" meant a completely different thing when I was growing up. I'm doing my Reflective Paper on Terry Gilliam's "The Fisher King," and it's connections to karma/redemptive justice/compatiblism.

"Spamalot" just opened on Broadway - Eric Idle's musical of "Python & the Holy Grail." Tim Curry as Arthur, David Hyde Pierce as Sir Robin, Hank Azaria as Sir Bedevere - the latter two play a variety of characters. It's not Sondheim, but it is exciting. As will be the film version of "The Producers."

I think you and I have a lot of interests in common. You're doing a great job. I absolutely love the show.

Now, about "Johann Gablepuddy............"

Keep up the good work.

i actually memorized the entire "johann gambelpoutty..." name when i was eleven and many years later, i met graham chapman at a lecture, shortly before his death. i asked him for an autograph. he widened his eyes when i told him my name - and said "that's a complicated name, but not as complicated as..."

and then he went into "johann gambelpouttty..." only before he knew it i had joined in and recited the entire thing with him - and his eyes widened even more. i think i genuinely succeeded in scaring him!

thanks for the kind words -

Memorized it, eh?* As in Johann Gambolputty de von Austernschpledenschlittcrasscrenbonfriediggerdingl edangledonglebursteinvonknacker-

Von Hauptkopt of Ulm?

Heck, I can't say it, but I can spell it.* It is so cool that you met Graham!* I always thought he was the best actor of the group.* His Arthur is actually very regal, and he's great as Brian.* You do know that there's a new broadway musical called "Spamalot."* It's the musical of "...Holy Grail," written by Eric Idle, with Tim Curry as Arthur, David Hyde Pierce as Sir Robin, and Hank Azaria as, I believe, Sir Bedevere.* Of course, Pierce and Azaria play many other parts.* Idle has invented a new female character - The Lady of the Lake.* Kind of a disco queen.* Curry sounds like he's still playing Dr. Frankenfurter.* I'm dying to get the OBC recording.

Have you also memorized the "Travel Agent" sketch, where Eric (Mr. Smoketoomuch) complains about package tours, with the "bleedin' Wopney's Red Barrel," etc?* I swear, the funniest thing they ever did was the, "It's the Mind" sketch about Deja Vu.

My three Gods of comedy (I'm a Pluralist) are The Marx Brothers, Firesign Theatre, and Monty Python.* With Stan Freberg, Tom Lehrer, and SCTV close on their heels.* You'll notice that what the majority of them have in common is language.* As opposed to physical comedy (Harpo being the exception, and, boy, will I give him that).* There's just something about intellectual humor.

You go, Javi!
