View Full Version : Reference to a pyramid?
Demonolith 05-15-2009, 06:59 AM OK, I can't find a screencap of it anywhere, but in the first scene did anyone else think the cliff-face resembled a pyramid?
You can see it as "Esau" is walking away from Jacob (around the 3.24 mark).
amslostfan 05-15-2009, 07:09 AM I see it yeah. Its not clear enough to be a pyramid though, however i do believe there is at least one pyramid on the island due to all the Egyptian stuff. I mean, if the orignial inhabitants could build a giant statue of their God then surely they can build a pyramid too. Remember we still haven't seen the temple yet ;).
When Ilana goes to Jacob's cabin she finds a drawing telling her where to go. The drawing shows the statue in front of a pyramid. When I saw this thread title I thought you were going to mention the drawing but I never noticed how the background of the first scene looks like a pyramid with a lot of growth on it.
lostnadream 05-20-2009, 06:11 AM I noticed it too, but discounted it as simply natural geography that the Lost crew could capitalize on to mess with our heads. They can do that so well.

I noticed the pyramid like hill behind them.
RoyBatty 05-24-2009, 09:58 AM I think the missing piece of Jacob's tapestry (http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Polotno-reconstraction.jpg) is the strongest hint that there might be pyramids on the island in plain sight. They are just covered in dirt and vegetation. I've been rewatching some of season 1 and there are other shots that could fit that theory.
But then to counter my own input, I have to admit that those don't necessarily have to be pyramids on the tapestry. They could just be pictures of the surrounding hills that happen to look like they could be pyramids.
Let's just say that if season 6 includes some flashback that shows the construction of the statue in progress, and the camera sweeps around to show pyramids directly behind it, I won't be all that surprised.
Sillystuff 05-28-2009, 06:36 AM I could've sworn I remember seeing a picture with Daniel in front of a pyramid somewhere. I thought it was a preview or something. But it never happened on the show so maybe I am crazy.
phorkster 05-28-2009, 08:13 AM The tapestry shows, imo, the island. Not necessarily pyramids.
too2strange 05-28-2009, 09:01 AM Biggest clue for me on the tapestry was the number 3. Three peaks next to the statue, three boats... it sure seems to point clues to pyramids.
What is under all that vegetation? Can't wait to see! Are the Losties somehow transported INSIDE a large Pyramid? That could explain Desmond's snowglobe comment, Daniel's rocket and MiB's comment of... you brought them here.
itsagame 05-28-2009, 09:51 AM maybe the Temple is a Pyramid.
the wall that they shown us wasnt the Temple....Richard said that the actual Temple was a mile inward or something like that.
So maybe a Pyramid is the Temple.
my question is how could they have so much area that hasnt been discovered yet? How big is this Island...you would have thought the LOSTies would have swept the Island by now. or seen it in the air.
also, not only a Reference to a Pyramid but did Hurley paint the statue of the Sphinx?
Lost face 05-28-2009, 12:53 PM Do the 3 ships in the tapestry represent "The Black Rock", 815, and Ajira flight?
lostie86 05-28-2009, 01:23 PM Do the 3 ships in the tapestry represent "The Black Rock", 815, and Ajira flight?
That would very well be the case!
too2strange 05-28-2009, 01:24 PM Cool idea! Or loops? I like the idea of the vessels bringing in people and we have seen it happen at least three times now. However, we also have the submarine bringing in Dharma people.
Lost Ed 05-28-2009, 03:58 PM Do the 3 ships in the tapestry represent "The Black Rock", 815, and Ajira flight?
I would say The Black Rock, Rousseaus's boat, and Desmond's "Elizabeth".
too2strange 05-28-2009, 10:33 PM Since we have seen several ships, planes, etc come to the Island perhaps they represent something else. The Players? Jacob, Nemesis and .... Walt?
Sandman815 05-29-2009, 04:52 AM Maybe the whole Island is a bunch of Pyramids that got ripped out of space because of some ancient gods pissing about, they were originally in North Africa, hence the link to Tunisia.
Over the thousands of years, grass and stuff grew over the pyramids and they became mountains, which is where all the underground passageways came from...
sorry... JK
couldnt resist...I've been reading some of the REALLY weird and whacky theories today and thought I might join in...

DON'T be sorry! Whacky and weird is what LOST has included in several episodes. But you make an excellent point! Is Tunisia the ONLY link to the FDW? What about Portland? Are there other antipodes? Perhaps a freak electromagnetic storm happened to cover up the "Gods" creating an Island. In that case, the Island is VERY old!
I think your theory might be very close to correct! I like it!
It is better than mine. I thought it could be a Genie's lamp! LOL! Actually, it was all in fun to explain how wishes seem to come true, in weird ways, on the Island.
