Upon watching this episode on Blu-Ray I'm perplexed. I think they changed the order.
My memory says that, upon original ABC airing, the opening scene in the 70s with Faraday led right into the stuff with Jack/Ben, and then the flashback to Locke. Then when Faraday told Sawyer "your camp hasn't been built yet" THEN it went to LOST and returned with credits.
But on the DVD/BluRay, as soon as Faraday is looking at the Orchid wall, it cuts to LOST and black and (presumably) commercial break.
This is not how I remember it airing on ABC. Anyone else?

I've just watched the episode aired on tv and after the scene in the 70s it cuts to LOST.

I don't know, I saw it online so there weren't commercial breaks.

I remember it as you do, SenatorKent. the original airing went right from Faraday in the Orchid to Ben and Jerry. Wait, I mean Ben and Jack. The LOST and commercials then came after the Faraday/ Sawyer stuff.
They probalby just reedited it to give it a structure closer to that of other episodes. The original had a long first act.

You are correct! I just checked the version that I downloaded back when it first aired, and it only cuts to "LOST" when Faraday tells Sawyer the camp hasn't been built yet.
Funny, I didn't think they would change anything on the DVD/BluRay releases...

That's not all they changed. If you head over to the thread on the DVDs, you'll find that they changed the order of several scenes in the finale, as well as excising a few lines altogether. There's also a Lostpedia entry about it here (http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Season_5_Blu-ray) with the same information.
They did a lot of reordering in Season 5. It wasn't just in the DVD/Blu Rays, but before the shows even aired. I'm sure you all heard about the fact that "316" and "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" were supposed to originally air in reverse order. Did you also know that the opening scene of TLADOJB, when Caesar is rooting around in the Hydra and then he and Ilana then talk to a newly resurrected "Locke," was actually going to be the opening scene of the entire season (as in, taking the place of the Faraday scene at the Orchid)?
I have to wonder whether that scene may have bookended the season better. I probably wouldn't have made sense why they opened the season with "Locke's" resurrection until the very end of The Incident, when we realized that we had been duped, but looking back now, it would have made sense.
