This is still unanswered, and is bothering me. How did MIBLocke know exactly what time to be there? The real Locke doesn't know exactly what time he flashed to (other than after 2004 since the plane was on ground - due to Boone falling in it).

My only idea is that MiB / Smokey was watching this scene too, and noted the exact time/date. Or that MiB sees the future (but even then, time and date?)

I also suppose someone (MiB) could time travel to the future.

This has probably been picked apart on other posts but I want to address it here. Early in season 5, Faraday says that either the island is skipping through time or the people are. What you're saying is suggesting that it was the people skipping and that all you have to do to catch up with one of them is to be wherever they were on the island at that time. This opens the possibility that the real Locke, Sawyer, Juliette, Faraday, Miles, and Charlotte can still be caught while fleeing on the outrigger. I don't know how Jacob's friend knows all this. I'm not much of a theorist. Maybe the entire history of the island has been written already and knowing where Locke will be at a certain time is like Sawyer knowing who to bet on in the 1978 Super Bowl.

This was also puzzling me for a while. We don't yet know the powers that MIB and Jacob possess. But, MIB had been planning his "long con" for a very long time. Remember MIB as fake Locke, which I call Flocke, said to Jacob, "You have no idea what I've been through..." to create his "loophole". I don't have the exact quote but the message was clear that MIB had been working on his "loophole" for centuries.
