As best I remember, when Kate went to the mother of Sawyer's child and told her the story, she didn't care. She said Sawyer stayed because of Cowardice. I remember sawyer jumped out of the helicoptor so Hurley wouldn't have to. And he never meant to stay behind, but was waiting for the helicoptor to come back.

Based on Cassidy's experience with Sawyer, her feelings are understandable. She had a child with Sawyer -- yet Sawyer wanted nothing to do with her or the child. Sorry but any man that knows he has a child and isn't willing to be in any way involved in that child's life is a coward. She based the statement on her own experience with him. That's not to say that he was a coward when he jumped, just that I can totally understand where Cassidy was coming from when she said that.

I agree. Sawyer has grown by leaps and bounds from the first episode through season 5. Cassidy knew him as the con-man that tried to play her and that wanted nothing to do with his child. She has every right to have a low opinion of Sawyer. Viewers have seen Sawyer go from a self-destructive yet self-serving jerk to a self-sacrificing man capable of real human connection.
Cassidy has every write to call him a coward, but we know better.
