View Full Version : Lost: Via Domus
afterthegoldrush 02-06-2010, 05:49 PM I'm having trouble remembering the ending to this game. I remember our main character finding a boat and getting off the island and then seeing the plane crash down. Then he wakes up on the beach and his dead girlfriend approaches him in a panic. Now that we've seen LA X, I wonder if the ending to this game has a greater significance?
enigma420 02-06-2010, 06:03 PM I don't remember much about it either, other than the fact that wasn't it key that the girlfriend wasn't there at the beginning, but the events he went through ended up such that she was? (Lending even more credence to the Dark Tower/Horn of Eld shenanigans.)
urbandruid 02-06-2010, 07:27 PM i totally agree, i immediately thought of the game when i saw LA X.
if i remember correctly, the girlfriend dies in one of the final flashbacks because the main character sells her out or something, i know he kinda blamed himself. im kind of fuzzy one the exact end too, but yea i know it was like he got a do over or was in another reality. i remember thinking man i hope thats not how the show ends....
Éowyn_Jade 02-07-2010, 08:39 AM Yeah from what I remember, we find out through flashbacks that his girlfriend died (was killed?) before he even got on Oceanic 815. But at the end of the game - he flashes back to the day of the crash... seemingly to loop through the whole experience again... however, this time his girlfriend was on Oceanic 815 with him.
That definitely seems to bring up Desmond not being on the place the first time but being there the second. (And also how Shannon was on one time but not the other). hmmmmm I might have to replay that game....
KingMe122o 02-07-2010, 11:11 AM Hmm...
Maybe everyone that was on Alt815 is going to end up crashing on the island in the altiverse, and that's what we saw at the end of Via Domus.
WIki has a summary of the game's plot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost:_Via_Domus
I think Elliot going back to the island had something to do with the heading he was on when he left.
beema 02-08-2010, 02:27 AM I was always kinda interested in playing this game, since I'm a big video game fan and a big lost fan.
Has anyone here actually played it? As a game, is it worth playing?
(4.8.15.16.23.42) 02-08-2010, 03:19 AM Here's a video of the ending:

No, this game was trash. Very short, you can run through it in 5 hours. Gameplay is way too monotonous with all the running back and forth trading coconuts and stuff. Horrible voice acting on part of the substitute voice actors. Awesome graphics though. I am a huge LOST fan and was so hyped for this game, paid 59 bucks on day one only to be let down by a very mediocre experience. 2 out of 10, dont even bother renting it.

I agree with Tommy. This was one of the biggest buckets of lard I've ever played. I haven't even traded it in, because it's only worth, like, a dollar.
The game I really want to play? Two words: Lego Lost!
MaggieRyanJr 02-08-2010, 04:42 PM It's down to about $12 now, and I just played it last week. It is quick, and it plays more like an interactive TV show than most games. My one complaint is that it makes the show look like it's about fuses more than anything else! I loved the fact that you got to run around in the DHARMA stations and the Black Rock, and I thought it was a lot of fun. And I liked the end, though I don't know if it has any relevance to the show (much like I enjoyed the YA novels, but don't know if they have any greater connection...)
beema 02-08-2010, 04:48 PM hmm, that's sad to hear
I might just play it anyways for the hell of it. I've played my share of crappy games, but running around the swan sounds like too much to resist

I agree with everyone else's assessment of the game, but honestly, as a Lost fan, it's definitely worth the cost of a rent. I'm still laughing at the "fuses" comment. So true, what was with that?
