I heard that 42 is of course, the answer to life, the universe and everything. So could the number 42 in reference to Sun, or Jin Kwon, in fact refer to their child instead of them? Sun and Jin's daughter could be the answers. Where is their daughter anyway?

If he knew they weren't going to last, why would he write their names up in the first place?

no idea, but the fact remains. Its not just a coincidence that the numbers weve been seeing for all this time coincide with the people who are still alive. Someone knew how things were going to turn out. maybe jacob maybe not. Maybe the other names were neccessary in order to get to this point. they had to complete certain actions to allow other events to unfold. Maybe the list is like a timeline, a way to keep track of the progress until now. why now is significant i dont know, the apparent war perhaps? i dont know.

We can not be sure of all the candidates has to be male, if that was true, Smokey would have stated Jin, not Kwon. However, when Jacob touch them, he touch both Jin and Sun at the same time, so that is one of the reason why I think it's their daughter that's a candidate , not them.
