why is jamey sheridan in the first photo we see in jacks apartment--the photo looks suspicious, almost photoshopped.... great actor!! hope he is on board..maybe it's just an uncle, godfather or something else.. i think the photo is in jacks moms house too-but very blurry... any thoughts

I didn't notice the one in Jack's apartment, but I did the one at Jack's mother's. I didn't think it looked like John Terry.

It could be that it's Raymond J. Barry he was Ray Shephard, Jacke's Grandpa in "316".

Yeah...It wasn't Jamey Sheridan, though you could squint and think this...I concur that it is just another example of a lousy photoshop job of three different actors mashed together in one shot that none of them posed for. This is not a big deal, usually. Every show has these bad photoshop photos in their BG (Check over the fireplace in Smallville, gak!) It's unfortunate that they use this closeup of substandard props to start an ep, though

I don't think it's any worse than the bad CG we've seen of the deserts in Iraq or the back drop of LA and many others. This show inspires so much thought and analysis that we think anything and everything could be a clue to the mystery.

I'm on board with the white coat/ black coat idea, though, Theo. The showed that picture for a reason and it wasn't just to show us a group of photos with different resolutions.

The interesting part is Mathew Fox and the lady that plays his mother (blanking on the name) appear to be actually wearing what they were wearing in the old photos. While they clearly took a picture of the actor that plays christian (again terrible with names) and put a white suit on him. So it does seem important that he is wearing white...they could have used any photo of him and meshed it together. I assume that it would be hard to find a photo of an actor wearing a completely white suit, while easy to find one of matthew in a tux...

Assuming it his him though, It does seem as if they are saying that Christian is on Jacob's side, not the MiB's.

Just what I was about to say. Seems to have been said in two other ways in this episode:

1. The parallel between Jack smashing the coffin (because Christian wasn't there) and the mirrors (because Jacob wasn't there)

2. Claire made a distinction between "my dad" (Christian) and "my friend" (MIB) - does this mean they're different people?

Oh and it really doesn't look like John Terry in that photo but I'm assuming it's supposed to, and I really do hope we see him this year
