View Full Version : In the order of events, where did this ep fall?
Piecar 05-20-2010, 12:31 AM I cannot reconcile the timeline for this episode. It seems to suggest two different positions to me. It can't have taken BeMiRic several days to get to the village, yet they were just getting there when we see them open Ben's secret room. So I thought that the events happened somehow between when Widmore had Kate at gunpoint and when Locke killed the sub.
But in this ep, Locke is carrying a gun, which I don't remember him doing before the sub fight...and it would be hard for him to slip away, paddle the canoe, and kill everyone, and paddle back to the Losties, wouldn't it? Again, I wonder: Is there a weird time elasticity happening on the Island these days.
Also, unrelated. Sayid went to the well without a rope. I don't think he had time to go hunt up a rope, and then go back and let Des out. There must be someone else free on the Island.

Either Claire or the Nadlers? Claire would know where to get a rope.
Piecar 05-20-2010, 12:37 AM But Claire's not over on that Island. And she went in search of the sailboat, not Sayid and the well, and she left with the sailboat. I can't see how it's her either. The Nadlers are a possibility....Wasn't there another Nadler clue a little while back?

I'm not sure what you're confused over. What "events happened" are you referring to? And I think Locke got his gun from one of the guys he killed at the plane.
As for Desmond getting sprung from the well - Jacob?
Piecar 05-20-2010, 12:54 AM They had an outrigger canoe, guppy. And Locke still has to paddle out there on the water....But you actually didn't say where you think the ep falls. You're saying this episode fell between Widmore holding Kate at gunpoint and The Sub activity? It couldn't happen before that.
Piecar 05-20-2010, 01:10 AM It just doesn't seem all that possible that it would take them three days to get there....and that their conversation would be so relaxed if it did. And it doesn;t seem likely that Widmore would be so calm and collected if he knew his entire team was waxed and his sub blew up...He still seemed pretty pompous.

Yes, Ben & Co. were walking for a few days. They left from the Black Rock which was close to the original 815 beach camp. Othersville was all the way on the other side of the Island and a good 2-3 days walk.

While Ben & Co. where walking to Othersville, the entire Sub fiasco took place. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, & Hurley swam back to the Main island. Locke and Claire were left on Hydra island. The next morning, Jack & Co are planning their next move on the beach, and Ben & Co. arrive at the Othersville. Sometime overnight Widmore and Zoe paddled a outrigger over to the main island / Othersville Dock, and were there to greet Ben. While they were at Ben's cabin, Locke paddled an outrigger to the same Dock as Widmore. Now they are all on the same island except for Claire. NO weirdness this time. HONEST.
There must be someone else free on the Island
That would be a very good assumption :biggrin::biggrin:
Piecar 05-20-2010, 01:40 AM I guess I had missed that the sailboat was close to the beach camp... The Black Rock, according to the new layout, is a mile inland from it's crash through the statue....but okay, say it isn't. It still in the middle of the Island at the base of the other mountain range, whatever. Richard Ben and Miles head north to Othersville. The rest go to Locke. Where are they meeting Locke? Up by the beach that faces Hydra, right?...and then they go for a walk, and Our Losties veer off...They get to the sailboat, which is parked at a well built dock...Where's that dock? Because Sawyer's map has the sailboat up by the NE of the Island. That would put it about the same latitude as Othersville, and there was alot of action before they started heading up there to get the sailboat. Which map, by the way, are we calling he correct one? It seems like Miles et al would have gotten to Othersville LONG before Locke could paddle back over, the next morning, let's say, after the sub explosion.
