Just watching The Constant and realized something; when George Minkowski wakes up from his mind traveling he says to Sayid and Desmond that he was just on a ferris wheel. Ok, in Recon when Sawyer goes to apologise to Charlotte (with beer and sunflower) you can see a ferris wheel outside in the background. Is this where George's mind traveled to?

If it was the playground on the Island than this means he was successful and was on the Island. But, I don't think Minkowski ever made it to the Island. Perhaps the new additions of the DVD will give some answers?

I don't think it would be the same ferris wheel. The one in recon was in the alternate reality they created to meet in when they died. I believe that the flashes George was having was putting his current consciousness into his past, just like Desmond was flashing back to his days in the military. Then again, Des did finally flash to the alt world when he was in the deadly EM field, so you could be right...

Yeah, I sort of got the impression that Minkowski had gone back to his childhood.

It might just be significant that wheels are a recurring motif, that Minkowski felt that he was going around and around. I thought it was funny that we saw him by the luggage "carousel" in the flash-sideways.
