Hi,

I was just wondering why in the ads for the show before the premiere, right before Claire says "did anyone see that?" in the valley behind her there were swirling spooky spiral lights, like something out of Close Encounters. Then when I watched the episode, and re-watched it on tape, the lights were gone.

When the original pilot was shot, was there going to be more of a supernatural bent to the show? Were those lights edited out? Were they included in the ads to try and draw interest?

The flare effect you saw in the ads was added by the network. I believe it coincided with some words appearing on screen. But it was never in any version of the cut.
