Is the following a mistake?

Charlie was in the front of the plane near the cockpit, where he stashed his drugs, when the plane crashed and yet he is found on the beach with the other "mid-section" survivors.


I could stretch it to believe that he found his way to the beach, however, when he accompanies Jack and Kate to find the cockpit portion of the plane, Charlie seems retrieves his drugs then.

my understanding is that charlie got out of the rest room, dodged a careening beverage service cart and then crawled far enough into the body of the plane to safely land on the beach...
