When they save meat they have killed, I understand that you can extract salt from the water to keep the meat edible. Have you done any research on this? Salt is one of natures true miracles. Great question, "Thatguy," thanks for taking the time to reach out. Yes, salt is a miracle for perserving all kinds of things and the abundance of salt in and around the island is a resource the survivors would be wise to take advantage of. You can't have enough salt. For preserving (and flavoring) food, cleaning wounds and perhaps even trading amongst themselves for goods and services. Still, too much of a good thing is unwise, so go easy on the stuff, okay?
