Hey there, Bobby. You're very welcome. Yeah, the makeup I wore for Solitary was pretty brutal. But I'm so grateful for it, because it so helped me get into character and create the situation... It definitely wasn't a "pretty" piece or exposition, but when is an Iraqi prison situation supposed to be "pretty?" Lost is way too good a show to stoop to superficiality. I did wear the makeup home to the hotel one night (I was so tired that I forgot to wash it off) and everyone was averting their eyes. I was like, what's the matter with everyone? Then I remembered I looked like I had been tortured and starved for weeks. Oops.* :-\
Anyway, I would definitely recommend that you get involved with a good acting class... One where the teacher and the other class members inspire you. When you feel confident about your work, get an 8X10 photo and a resume and start looking at local agents or managers. Make sure they're legit before you meet any of them. The "Ross Reports" (you can get them at Sam French bookstores) is a good way to know if someone is on the level or not. I don't know where you live so I don't know how many local agents there are, most cities have at least a couple. Have a wonderful new year!
