Hello, Mr. O'Quinn? First let me start by saying how long I've admired your work. When I saw you were going to be a featured player in Lost, I knew I'd like the show, because you always turn in solid, quality work that too often flies under the radar. I hope you get some serious recognition in the Hollywood awards circle *cough*Emmy*end cough*, because "Walkabout" alone was insanely good. And that's just one of your standout episodes!
Anyway, gushing over (LOL!). I was wondering, how much about your character were you told PRIOR to filming? Obviously you had to know that Locke was a paraplegic before the crash, but there's so much more to him than that. Are you learning new things about him as you go and the writer's flesh out your backstory? Or is much of it set in stone and you're working on what you know? If this show goes on for many seasons (and I hope it does!) it makes me wonder if the writers have factored in ENOUGH backstory for each of the characters to make that possible! LOL! I trust them and you, the actors, implicitly, but this is a question that's been nudging around in my brain for a while. I was hoping you could take a moment to give me your take. ;D
Thank you, Mr. O'Quinn! And thank you for all your marvelous work!
Sincerely,
Melissa
