Hello!
First, I want to thank Fury, JJ, Damon, et. al for creating such a wonderful show. I never watch network tv, but ABC has got me hooked. Lost is just so well-crafted - I can barely wait the week between shows.
I know you can't really answer many of our questions, and frankly, I'm not sure I would want all of them answered. However, I would like to know if:
1) Claire's popularity has surprised you?
She's my favorite, along with Locke, because she's so kind, and has a big heart. I loved how she took charge of the memorial service for the passengers who did not survive. I know Kate is the leading lady, but I read several boards, and Claire is universally loved. Did you expect that from her character? Aside from the Claire episode coming up, can we expect to see more of her? I miss her when she's not on screen.
2) Has Claire and Charlie's popularity surprised you?
Kate and Jack are considered the leading "couple", but I see that most fans adore Claire and Charlie, even though they shared only a brief scene. I loved how Charlie took care of Claire when her health started to fail; they have a real chemistry and I'd bet they'd be great for each other.
3) Rumors are that a major character will be killed by the end of the season. Without giving anything away, are you afraid that people might think that this would be done purely for shock value, without adding anything to the story?
