Hello to my idol and God. I am a college student in NY with big writing dreams, and LOST astounds me every week with the superb job the writers do keeping the suspense, characteriation and plotline all moving so fluidly. One of the reasons I am inspired by you guys so much is that usually in a writing situation you have to decide what's the most important part of the story, The characters, the plot, or the setting. If you decide the characters, you usually don't flesh out a very intricate plotline. You guys have found a way to give each story point equal attention. So my question is, when you started outlining, did you have two separate arcs, characters and plot? The flashbacks are such a great device, I'm kind of curious if you have a seperate idea of what happens to the characters removed from the plot that develops once on the island, or does everything come together in one big brainstorm from episode to episode.
I hope that made some snense, I just wanted to say that you guys are amaing and inspiring, and keep me glued to the edge of my seat every week. Congrats on the awards so far, they are very well deserved.
