Hey Raggs, too bad about Maternity Leave getting pushed back. Damn American Idol and Olympics. Just had a few questions:

1) On what basis do Carlton and Damon assign writers to write an episode? Is there a specific reason why a certain writer does a certain story? Why were you and Dawn chosen for Maternity Leave?

2) Were there any other flashbacks stories that were shot and then scrapped like the Season 2 Episode 2 initial Sawyer story?

3) What can you say about the upcoming Jin/Sun flashback and who is 217 going to focus on?

Hope you can answer these and good luck with Maternity Leave. From the rumors we have all heard it sounds like the most promising episode so I hope the ratings will be great.

1) CC and DL assign scripts according to whomever they feel will be the best person or persons to tell that particular character's story. For example, Eddy is a music fanatic, so he is usually a good person to write for Charlie. Christina Kim spent some of her childhood in Korea and has a much better handle on Sun and Jin for that reason, etc. Dawn and I were chosen for the Claire episode because... we both have been vocal in wanting to explore her missing time on the island.

2) There are always storylines that are postponed, cut, or moved forward throughout the course of the season. I can't tell you which ones exactly because they will most likely still be used. Sorry.

3) As usual, it will focus on both of them. But if I had to choose one or the other, I'd expect to learn more about Sun.

Thanks for your kind words about Maternity Leave. The bump is frustrating, but if I can wait 10 years for this, I can wait another week, right?

Thanks for replying! I know you must be so busy right now and we havent heard from you for a while. The promo for your episode was amazing!! I am positive that it is going to be the best episode this season. On another note you posted the tentative air date list for someone, and obviously your episode got pushed back a week. A lot of us have been relying on that list to know when episodes air. Do you think you could provide the updated list now? Thanks, hope thats not too much trouble. Oh, does this mean that Christina wrote 216? And also we all know the title for 217 but I dont want to post it because the MODS might get mad at me. But could you just clarify who the flashback is for? Someone posted a casting sheet that said that that episode is being filmed February 17-23.

3/1` - 215 Maternity Leave
3/08 -repeat
3/15 - repeat
3/22 - episode 216
3/19 - Episode 217

That's about as far as I want to go for now, okay?

I think you most likely mean 3/29 there. Since I may not be able to get ahold of you again - will the season finale flashback for a character again or will it be an airport flashback. Also what episode is currently being written now?

Yes, I did mean "3/29", you're right.

We are just starting on episode 20 (of 23) tomorrow morning.

Regarding the finale, I am not permitted to tell you anyting at all about it. Sorry...
