Hello Mr. O'Quinn, or Terry, whichever you prefer. First I'd just liek to say that your character is one of my personal favourites on the show...you do such an awesome job!
I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I do not act because I tend to be quite a shy person. However, I play the piano and am currently preparing to audition to get into university music programs, and the thought of auditioning is terrifying! I don't mind performing in front of people I'll never see again, or my friends, etc. but these people hold me university future in their hands. Having said all that...do you have any advice on staying calm and putting in a great audition? If you coudl help me I would really appreciate it!
Thanks
;D

I try to look at fear as just another form of excitement..............................as if you could flip the coin and see it as a positive form of energy. Sometimes when I'm working on a scene and something upsets me; a director, an actor, my agent, my luck, my inability to get ahold of the scene I try to remind myself to "throw it on the fire......it'll burn." A lot of different feelings can contribute to the creative fire. Try to accept your fear as a form of energy, and make it work for you. And remember, the people who are in the room want you to do well. They want you to succeed...........................so breathe...............................and try to enjoy the experience. And the very best of luck to you.
Terry

Hi again Terry!!!!!! How are you doing these days? I just wanted to thank you again for you great audition advice. :) I really helped me reamain calm during my first audition (not for university, but a kind of practice one). I didn't do very well (severe head cold does not equal concentration with me), but that's okay...just not my day :-\ Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks very much!!! It truly did help me...your'e very good at giving advice! I hope you're well, and I will talk to you later!!!!
