I just simply want to know if the actors and actresses know the basis of the entire season or do the actors and actresses know the only the basis of the show up until what was just last shot? Allow me to ask this, this way instead.

1. Do the actors and actresses know what is going to happen to each character for the entire season?

2. Do the actors and actresses ONLY know what is going to happen to each character up until the last show shot?

Thank you for your time JJ and Crew.

Somewhere in between. Some of us know certain secrets that will be revealed later, other times we'll be told the gravity or significance of something without exactly explaining the specifics of it. For example in the pilot Jack pours himself a drink in the airplane. At this point Matthew has no idea that he's bringing the body of his dad home to be buried, after who knows what has happened. All he knows is for some reason this drink is VERY important, so that's what he plays. Or when Locke sees the "thing" in the woods we were all grilling him about it. "Did they say what it is?" "No" "So what did they tell you to play?" "That I was looking at the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." (Which is probably the same look you give to the scariest thing you've ever seen too, right before you poop yourself) I think it's a fun way to do a show.
