Ana Lucia? Um....can we? Help me Raggs....thow me a bone. Tell me that the smartest person on the island will get the respect and leadership position she deserves.
This woman is the most realistic, straight-forward, observant, and most put together person on the whole island. Libby's old "You're not the best judge of character comment." was so off base it's not even funny. Ana's got everyone/everything on that island pegged for what they really are.
Let's make a list of a few things shall we:
1. She said "We need to get off this beach." They did not want to. The Others come twice and take many, including kids.
2. She wanted to "keep going" when they were trekking looking for somewhere to stay. For all we know she COULD have led them all the way to the other side of the island, but no, they were tired and wanted to stay there.
3. She was the ONLY one of the tailes trying to figure a damn thing out. She figured out Goodwin was one of them....the others were totally clueless. She killed him and therefore secured their safety for the rest of the time.
4. She didn't want to trek through the jungle to save Sawyer. Everyone else did. Now I think everyone agrees that saving Sawyer's life was a mistake....and also by doing that Cindy was taken/died.
5. Right after like 5 minutes of knowing him, she knew that Sawyer is an untrustworthy *** who only responds to threats and violence. Something that everyone else found out the hard way after 2x13 now didn't they?
6. She's got Kate number, knowing it was her making accusations in 2x13.
7. She caught onto the Jack/Locke power struggle after 1 week when no one else noticed/cared for 50+ days.
8. She was the only one who got anything from "Henry" and the map that SHE got led them to what would ultimately prove him to be a liar. She NEVER said she believed him she just wanted proof and she got it. ALSO, SHE wanted to keep looking when Sayid wanted to give up....they kept looking b/c of her and they found what they needed.
9. She now realizes "Henry" is useful, and she rightly kept Sayid from killing him.
The rest of them bounce around selfish and clueless as heck. Everyone has their flaws and accidents, but Ana's are small when you take into account how darn smart she's been all this time. Add to it she's got one of the best senses of survival skills, gun skills, and fighting skills of just about anyone....and can we elect Ana island leader now?

P.S. I'm still hoping for some explanation as to Ana's obvious army training...come on...cops don't know that kind of torture and skills and the whole knife thing to boot.
