There's A LOT of threads right now about whether what Eko and Locke found was really the "?" on the Blast Door Map or something else that they'll just think is the "?" until they find the real one. A lot of that is because "the pearl?" is written on the Blast Door Map far away from the "?" in the center. (Also I think people just expected something much more out of the "?".)

I think it's also safe to assume if the ? is that important you guys are not done with The Pearl by a long shot.
