There's been an ongoing discussion about whether the themes in the episode review threads are read and communicated back to the writing teams. In particular, people are wondering if anyone on the writing staff reads the "Loved it" and "Eh, could have been better" and "Rate this episode" threads.

I can sure understand why the writing staff might not want to venture into the "Eh, could have been better" threads, but there are a few common themes in them that we hope are being considered. I know there is discussion of preparing a respectful letter to TPTB addressing a few items that are bugging some of the hard-core viewers who still love the show.

Any feedback you can give us on how much TPTB monitor the episode rating threads would be great.

And thanks for understanding that only someone who truly loves the show would care about whether TPTB are hearing our feedback. :D

A hard core fan with a few reservations

I'm not sure about the others (ha -- no pun intended) but I go into those threads and scan them to get an idea of what fans are thinking. Even the "could've been better" threads. It doesn't bother me to read comments from fans who didn't like the episodes. I'm secure enough in my own opinions and open to differing opinions.

I think Damon, Carlton and the other producers are, too. So go ahead and write a letter expressing your concerns about stories that may not be working for you or relationship/characters you think aren't working or need more screen time. Of course you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so like you wrote be respectful. If you didn't care you wouldn't be concerned.

Thanks so much for the response! I think several folks will be following up on that idea, and I totally agree it must be respectful. I sure hope it ends up that way.
