The car that Jin drives, an E34 BMW 5-Series, is the same car seen in one of Kates flashbacks. Its the one that her docter friend crashes. Only now, its destroyed by a falling body. Weird connection.

Jack for sure, and I thought the tail lights on Desmonds car were from a BMW... digitaldragon03 10-12-2006, 01:36 AM I cant remember. If you get me screen caps i can probably tell you if its a BMW and whether its the same model as the one i mentioned. Seanwlambert 10-12-2006, 08:21 AM Im 99.9% sure that this is nothing more than product placement. MaggieRyanJr 10-12-2006, 08:24 AM Product placement- yes, agreed RbBrdman 10-12-2006, 08:37 AM You know what would be super cheesy product placement is if in next ep.. we see the others driving around the island in Jeep's , cracking cans of sprite... after the whole lost experience thing that might be a bit too much.... Seanwlambert 10-12-2006, 09:09 AM Or we find a McDonalds in "otherville" That would be funny. If you pay attention, MANY shows lately are adding product placement because of TIVO allowing us to fastfoward through commercials. RamessesIX 10-12-2006, 10:15 AM I think Kate's squeeze had a 7-Series, actually. Guess even a young doctor's a little higher up in the world than a mob enforcer. modkittn 10-12-2006, 10:59 AM You know what would be super cheesy product placement is if in next ep.. we see the others driving around the island in Jeep's , cracking cans of sprite... after the whole lost experience thing that might be a bit too much.... You made me spit my coffee out on my monitor! Hilarious  digitaldragon03 10-12-2006, 09:31 PM I doubt its product placement because the BMW is bearly shown. They dont even show the badge, or BMW trademarks such as the kidney grills. The only reason i noticed was because i own the same model car and i consider myself somewhat of an enthusiast. Also, if it were product placement, it would make sense to place a newer model car. The car shown is 2 generations old and was last sold at dealerships in 95. Or even better would if what Skate are helping to built is a Starbucks! Shamu x EdMuse 10-13-2006, 11:31 PM Im 99.9% sure that this is nothing more than product placement. That's what I was thinking. There was very obvious Ford product placement all over Alias. I recall a rather poignant moment in a chase scene, when to great cinematic effect, it was absolutely necessitated by the storyline to show a closeup of the Focus SVT logo. I doubt its product placement because the BMW is bearly shown. They dont even show the badge, or BMW trademarks such as the kidney grills. The only reason i noticed was because i own the same model car and i consider myself somewhat of an enthusiast. Also, if it were product placement, it would make sense to place a newer model car. About the model year, it is, after all, a flashback. I'm not sure how long before 2004 it was supposed to be, but perhaps they just used an older model for realism's sake. On the other hand, in LTDA, Widmore pulls up to the prison in a Bentley Arnage. Bentley is owned by Volkswagen. If BMW is supplying cars to the show, it should have been a Rolls Royce, as they are owned by BMW. Seanwlambert 10-15-2006, 08:59 AM After going back and thinking about it. BMW's are normally owned by people who can afford them. Such as doctors (in kates flashback) and men who work for rich people who need a car to do a dirty deed. Im just saying its either product placement, or nothingat all. 2 rich people having a BMW isn't weird. digitaldragon03 10-16-2006, 01:28 PM The only thing is, its not just two BMW's. Its the exact same style, year, color, even interior color. Either, the producers are running out of props, or theres some sort of connection or crossover. lost2009 10-16-2006, 01:49 PM Either, the producers are running out of props, or theres some sort of connection or crossover. I agree. And, since I doubt you would start a thread to say that you think the producers are running out of props, I am going to assume you think there is some sort of connection or crossover. So, what do you think it is? |
