Folks I love Lost, been watching since day 1 but I give up on trying to figure this show out. I'm going to keep watching but I can't take it anymore. I'm just going to chill enjoy the show and see what happens.

Its about fueling the imagination, just check out this board and all the others out there, this show promotes thoughts from all sides, good, bad and indifferent. Forums like this can fuel the creators in directions we never thought of, or even they hadnt. Just sit back, relax and know this show is going to entertain you on the edge of your seat for a while to come! seebee 10-13-2006, 11:47 PM Hopefully this will be the season of answers like the producers said in their podcast. Superman 10-13-2006, 11:52 PM seebee, i was at the position you're at right now, but i was there at the beginning of season 2... to be brutally honest, i have thoroughly enjoyed the show much more now that i have stopped trying to theorize and figure things out because on most accounts i have been WAY off lol... also, for me, i don't want all the answers right away... LOST definitely answers questions but also brings up newer ones and i love that about the show... things aren't always as they seem, you know? once something is answered, is it truly? hehe zentrxtr 10-14-2006, 12:09 AM I could be wrong, like everyone else about everything else, but I think this show is not just about a mind game, it is a mind game. Almost as if the question has been posed, Can we take away all linear/logical/sequential elements, leave nothing but a random/abstract video fingerpainting, whose meaning must be attached by the viewer, and call it a television show? IMHO, figuring things out is overrated, attaching meaning to things that fascinate us is, well, the transcendent part of being human. If that seems like a bit much even for a Lost fan, then welcome to my world! :p Liplocked 10-14-2006, 06:05 AM In absense of new episodes in the UK - I'm waiting for the terrestial broadcasts - playing "what the heck is going on" if an entertaining and absorbing substitute. I'm so into exploring every idea that comes along - those I read and those I generate myself - that it's all I can do here to stop myself starting a character thread for Eko's stick. *also blushes* Then I could link passages from the books he carved on it to that mention the treatment of slaves - think Colossians is on it - to the wrecked Black Rock... and I would too, despite the fact I think it's a Transportation ship and not a slaver at all. In my defence all I can say is I never seen a canal on Mars ;) ...but that that's somewhat undermined by my belief I can prove the 'Swan' is in fact a cobra. I gotta get a new hobby. :D |
