I know this question cannot be answered but I am wondering how the animal got loose on the island.....ie. the shark and the polar bear. It also makes me wonder if this group of others is in anyway affliated with Dharma b/c they do not seem to care that they are gone.......Also, if these animals are still alive, they could not have been loose that long......

The cages that Sawyer, kate, and Karl are in still function and look in pretty good shape. I personaly believe that the animals where let loose as the focus of the Dharma Initiative "changed" after the incident.

I personally think that Hanso cut funding or just stop allowing testing, and left everyone on the island. so they let the animals run free on the island.

The thing that puzzles me is why aren't they hurting more people. They were fed at the Hydra, which means, in reality, they would be habituated. They would associate people with being fed, and thus would head for populated areas when it was feeding time. Also, the food that Sawyer got from the bear puzzle was still fresh enough to eat? Did they continue stocking that thing to feed the prisoners? Kind of cruel, don't you think?

I'll bet the Others are tree-hugging granola-heads and in big time with the PETA (people for the ethical treatment of animals). You know, kindof like eco-terrorists. They set those animals loose, mark my words. Probably throw red pain on any Losties wearing fur also. :rolleye1:
