Had it on tape Christian, so I just got done watching it again. Hey, since you're not on the cast right now, I hope I can talk frankly.
This episode was kinda <b>painful to watch<b>. I mean...I'll say it again... THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST GOTTEN YOUR NAME RIGHT!!!! I dunno, since I knew that was you, and they called you Scott....that just did not work for me, and it was no better watching it the second time around. To me, you can tell something is missing (wrong) in that scene. But, besides that, I had some other issues. The Charlie flashbacks juxtaposed with Claire was OK, I thought that was good, but the ending had me roaring!
Here you have a timid, sniveling mouse of a guy in Charlie, which is grounded in the flashbacks, and in the next moment, he is a cold-blooded killer! (and one that has surprisingly good aim to boot) Uh-uh, he went wa-a-ay too far, w-a-a-a-a-a-y-y too fast. There was no life changing journey for Charlie...he ran and took the elevator! I think that was a writing miss. What they did, was force Charlie to do something that was "OUT OF CHARACTER".
The other part that had me chuckling was the fight scene between Jack and Ethan. These two are slugging it out and the rest are tip-toeing in closer to have a look-see. I mean, isn't Ethan a murderer? Can somebody help poor Jack out please? Ok, so they don't want to shoot him. Any branches or rocks nearby to be grabbed to give a little tap on Ethan's head? It was like...fight on the intermediate school playfield! "let's go watch!"
Ok, enough of the critic's tirade here...at least for this episode. From the previews of next week, it looks like they are going to pair up Sawyer and Kate, and force a love triangle with Jack. I hope they don't go there, they have overplayed this theme already. If they change Kate, from ex-CIA agent/prisoner to agent/prisoner/slut, I just may join Lee Cataluna's crusade to how LOST can solve it's financial problems!
