Just a thought... If the island has greatly increased the recuperative abilities of the Losties, ala John and his legs (twice), Rose's cancer, even the Jin/Sun conception (if it IS Jin's), then why does Ben's face still look war-torn from the hatch sessions? John is up and trekking again, and he's had a post through his leg since "Henry's" quality time with Sayid.

Oh come on. It's been how many days since Ben was last beat up? Benry's face is healing fine. Come next episode I doubt he'll have a scratch.
Oh, except Sawyer is supposed to deck him next week. So maybe he'll get some new cuts?

However, what I know I'm going to laugh at is how Eko is going to be prancing around kicking *** just 2 or 3 episodes from now, after just having (at least) his ankle mauled by a bear. We can't say how he was dragged to the cave (by the scruff of his neck?) but we know the bear had his leg when it was tug-o-waring Locke for Eko. Bears don't grab you with their opposable thumbs! They do it with teeth, like a dog fighting for a toy, and those teeth would sink in and crush bones and stuff. But c'mon... are we going to have this big imposing actor limping for the entire season? I think not. Like Rose said to Locke last season... we know the healing won't take too long.

I'm also convinced all the hatch implosion survivors are essentially "super" now. So, sure, they heal EXTRA fast! I kind of think their original bodies are somewhere down in all that crushed hatch metal and they've been reincarnated on the surface... JUST like most of the 815 survivors! Locke wakes up in the forest looking up at trees... just like Jack woke up in the pilot. I think there's a good chance they both actually died (as well as many others) but that the island, or maybe Smokey, revives them. Possibly in new bodies. Someone finding their OWN dead body will be one good episode! Probably in the zombie season.

It doesn't seem to heal small hurt, just big ones. Charlie had his head wound, Locke his eye scar, Jack's cheeks, etc. Thsoe seemed to heal at normal rate.

I think it has to do with desire. You have to *want* the injury healed. It has to be comething that concerns you and that you think about.

Jack wasn't thinking about his wounds, he knew he'd be alright. Ditto for everyone else in the minor injury category.

I get the feeling that if Shannon had gotten a zit on her face, the island would have healed it for her, because it would have been at the top of her priority list.

Yknow, now that you mention it, Locke's leg did heal awfully fast considering that right before the whole hatch incident, he and Eko had gone to the Pearl station and Locke was on crutches the whole time. They came back, argued about the hatch, blew it up, then Locke's leg was fine. :34853_huh:

:D Good one. But then one has to ask why it didn't heal her asthma. Surely she wanted that made better. I know I would be very happy if mine disappeared.
