I'm pretty sure they are going to set up a search party as soon as Sayid, Jin, and Sun get back. Honestly at the moment, Locke, Hurley, and Desmond are pretty much the only capable ones around the beach. Eko is KO'd, Charlie is a muppet, Rose and Bernard aren't much to brag about and Hurley is questionable at best.

I'm thinking that's part of the reason they are bringing in the new charachters. More hands for the rescue. It seems like Locke is the one who will lead any rescue mission and I know if I were him, I would want Sayid, Jin, and a healthy Eko with me before I even thought of going to save Jack, Kate, and Sawyer

It will be Locke and Sayid who go--to find J/J/K,
to find Mr. Eyepatch,
and to explore and map the Island. The latter, because The Others know the Island inside out, and to have a chance against Them, the lostaways need to take that advantage away from Them!

The rest of the lostaways had better get cracking on developing defenses against The Others. Ex-soldier Desmond can be helpful with that. Heck, he's an "almost" doctor, too, so he'll fill that role. He'll probably end up as the first among equals in The New Inner Circle, which will include Charlie, Hurley, Jin/Sun, and (unfortunately) Paulo and Nikki. But we won't see much of this until February and beyond. Heck, we'll be lucky to see Locke & Sayid take their leave of the group in Eppy 6! :rolleyes:

Then again, this boffo cliffhanger TPTB keep promising us may change EVERYTHING by the end of Eppy 6. So we're once again stuck with Gregg Nations' ubiquitous advice to "watch, wait, and see." :hissy:

My favorite search/exploration party would be = Locke, Jack, Sayid, Sawyer.

Kate has no place in the exploration. So I personally don't care for her except for the eye candy factor.

after the EMFH episode. Yes, it is just a TV show but the writers need to start having the beachies show a normal behavioral reaction to what has happened, soon!

Based on how things were when Ben (Fenry) was in the hands of the crash survivors, it seems to me that the easiest way to get Jack, Kate and Sawyer back is to sneak into Other territory and capture one or two of them. Then basically leave a ransom note instructing them what to do in order to get their people back.

The biggest thing is to get into Other territory without alarming them and then to capture their people and get back out without alarming them.
