Hi! My roommate and I are avid lost fans! Great show, by the way! We were just wondering, why do you guys hate Michael? Every single time he tries to do something it goes horribly wrong. Example: Walt hating him for no reason and burning his boat. Or how about that whole car accident thing? What was that about? So far as we can tell, he has done absolutely nothing to deserve this negative karma. Perhaps there is some dark secret in his past that will explain why he has become the proverbial Charlie Brown of this show? Is it true that if you listen closely to last night's episode you can hear him say, "Good Grief?" Anyway, we were just wondering if there is some secret something that he has done to deserve all this pain. You don't have to tell us what it is, but we would appreciate, for our own peace of mind, knowing that such a backstory existed. Thanks a lot!* ;D Again, your show rocks!!! It provides hours upon hours of amusement!! Hooray! Woot, as they say!

one of the ways to make good drama is to create characters the audience loves and then hurt them -- michael has had a hard life and he has always tried to do the right thing, even if it doesn't always work out in the best way. i don't think he has a dark karmic secret -- he is just a guy doing what most of us do, working his way through adversity the best he can...

...unless he does have a dark karmic secret! (muhhuhuhuhuhuhuha!)

thanks for the question...
