Pinnerman again from Lost-TV.com.* Love reading the boards here, and I'm trying to only ask really important questions and not all the time (less is more).* So here goes (Sorry so long.)

We know that the distress signal has been playing for 16 years and in the real world it's currently 2004, but we don't know for sure that Danielle's ship left Tahiti in 1988.* Sayid conveniently failed to tell her it's 2004, or ask her when she left.* Personally, that's the first thing I'd have asked- "What year is it?" -but that's just me.* *I get that for the sake of the mystery, Sayid is "written that way".* (That was torturous by the way...across the world, fans of Lost were yelling questions we wanted Sayid to ask her at our TV's to no avail...)

So based on that, I noticed that if Danielle did take off with a science expedition 16 years ago, she seems to NOT have a lot of possessions that would be historically accurate to 1988.* *In fact, all of the things in her shelter looked older than that, from the rifles to the materials everything was made of...a lot of metal and wood and heavy objects.* I understand there could have been others on the island before her crew and she could have scavenged, but you haven't established that yet.* So if I'm working on a current timeline, I don't see ANYTHING that she has that looks like it was definitely made in the last 16 years or so.* There's a very conspicuous absence of plastic items and modern equipment, which if they got the locker off the boat, you would assume they could have salvaged some modern items as well.* *

In fact, the surgical adhesive tape she used on Sayid's head wound was produced by a company in Connecticut, the problem is that the address on the label of the tape said "Conn".* The US postal service switched to two letter state abbreviations a long time ago, and in 1963, they started to enforce that companies try to use only the two letter kind.* *So that makes that surgical* tape pretty old.* A little too old to be in the medical or first aid kit of a 1988 science expedition, plus that syringe was ancient.* Definitely not from 1988.

So the questions I have are these.* *Very simple...I'm* trying to establish a baseline of facts that have so far been assumed.
(1) On the TV show Lost, did the Oceanic flight that crashed on the island leave Australia in 2004 like in the real world?
(2) Did Danielle and her science expedition leave Tahiti in 1988, or within a couple years of that date, plus or minus?
(3) How long after Danielle and her crew arrived did they initiate the repeating distress signal?

As you can see, I'm giving you an "out" here...I'm not asking you when they arrived on the island.*

If you want to see the entire body of research I put together on Danielle's hideout, you can see the whole post at this link:

But as you said last time, you guys try not go to other sites (wink wink).* Let me know if you want me to post the whole thing over here.* And thanks for the most addictive show on television.
