Is Locke the Devil? This is actually a serious question. Locke seems to be really into 'persuading' people. He never forces his way, and free will and choice seem to be a big thing with him. And we all know that the Devil (at least from the literary perspective) really loves him some free will of man. Locke is the man pointing everyone to what they want. Locke is the one encouraging 'pacts' with the island. We have an Adam and Eve, so would Locke be our Serpent?
