Have you noticed that everytime a "SAILBOAT" is mentioned, the Others are VERY INTERESTED in it.

Ben looks concerned, "They have a sailboat?"

Sukhail jumps at it, "a sailboat?"

And don't forget in Desmond's flashback when Kelvin tries to steal the sailboat!


Maybe a sailboat is the only way to actually leave the islands boundaries (I know Desmond said he only sailed in circles for a couple of weeks and ended up back there, but maybe it's because he was drunk half the time).

I agree..something is up with the sailboat thing. Ben and his Kin seem to know everything about everything...but this boat always strikes a chord. Do you think they are just in the dark about Desmond? And maybe what Desmond can do ?

They did not know that he was there because Kelvin found him before the Others, and Danielle Can you imangine what would have happend to him if Danielle would have found him first

I think the Others operate on a series of cryptic prophecies (sp?). It would be a good explanation for their obsession with children, y'know, something like "A child will come that is the key...", or something of that nature.

If this is in fact true, there could be another one like "One will arrive on a sailboat, to thwart everything..."

Just a thought...
