First time visiting here, glad I found this board!!

Am very curious about Sawyer's past, can't wait for that episode. But, as far back as the pilot episode, I get a strong feeling that he and Kate are already 'familiar' with each other. She seems to have a 'helping people she knows' thing (oxygen mask on the marshal, pulling the farmer out of the truck), and she wanted to go back for Sawyer when the polar bear was charging (also calling out his name, which was the first time we heard it said - - did she already know it?)

Sawyer said that he saw them pull Sayid out of line before they boarded the plane, which leads me to believe that Sawyer knew full well that those handcuffs hadn't been on Sayid, and that Sayid wasn't being escorted onto the plane by a marshal. And yet he accused Sayid of being the prisoner? Was Sawyer (perhaps in paranoia) trying to deflect suspicion onto Sayid because he knew that the cuffs had been on Kate?

And his 'I made this birthday wish 4 years ago' comment just seems too specific. Did they know each other in the past? Or does she simply remind him of someone else?

And THANK YOU for this show - - such a wonderful breath of fresh air, I've been waiting for a show like this since Firefly was cancelled!!
