Mine is: did any of the writers/creators/producers ever read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's the Lost World? If so, did it influence you in any way re: Lost? I know that the monster isn't a dinosaur, but LW is about a group of people stranded on a South American plateau, which turns out to be inhabited by dinosaurs.
It's a long shot, but I had to ask. I highly recommend this book, and it's sequel, the Poison Belt, if you like adventures.
