Could the fact that the Castaways are living off of the island's resources have something to do with the miraculous things that it gives them? Doesn't really make much sense since Locke hadn't eaten anything when he woke up able to walk, but still . . . Just a thought. The Dharma folks have been eating their own stuff from the outside world. I'm assuming that the cows are provided by Dharma as well.
