Hey guys, you're brilliant and Lost is the only show worth watching! Seriously!

Now that I've buttered you up, I'm hoping you can shed some light on a recent heated forum debate...Jacob's lantern.

When Ben goes into Jacob's shack with Locke, we see him light the lantern and bring it in with them. Later, when everything goes haywire, the lantern falls and breaks, setting fire to some straw on the floor.

A few shots later, the fire is GONE, and when Ben emerges from the shack, there's no fire glowing in the background and even odder, Ben REPLACES THE NOW-INTACT LANTERN ON THE HOOK BY THE DOOR!

Is this a continuity error that we should disregard, or are the disappearing fire and intact lantern CLUES for us hopelessly addicted uber-geeks?

PS My oh-so-hip alt-rock NYC band has written a song about our lamentably obsessive addiction to Lost, and are debuting it this Friday.
