Javi,

Any chance Sawyer might find Lewis Caroll's "The Hunting of the Snark" when looking for something to read?

Thanks!

Tom

dunno - i have not run into that particular one during my airplane travels (but then again, i usually have a hard time finding an in-flight magazine where the crossword is still blank!). we shall see...

thanks for the question!

No problem! Great read, by the way. It's in the public domain, too. All about a group of 12 seafarining adventurers who visit a strange land. They're hunting a snark, which is harmless -- that is unless it is a boojum. If it's a boojum, then when you find it, you'll just up and disappear.

It's written in 8 fits. And the main character, the Baker, leaves 42 bags on the pier before the journey (signifying his old life and the start of his new life).

Anyway, if I happen to hear a character say that the monster in the jungle is probably just a snark, I'll give a smile and a knowing nod ...

..... and talk about it endlessly on these boards afterward.
