If you watch and you do, then it seems to me that everyone has some kind of father issue ..or perhaps parental issue..but I'm going with father..

Ecko: he was like a father to his brother and his brother was a "Father" with the Catholic church. (kind of a stretch there, I know..) read on:

Jack: wants to get his fathers approval. He has become the Father of this Group in a way.

Kate: killed her real father, although she doesn't know it..so now her mother won't speak to her..why she didn't tell her "Hey Kate, you actually killed your biological father" is beyond me.

The Beautiful Sawyer :angel: ..looked for his fathers (and mother's) killer for most of his life, and is a father although he won't admit it when he finds out.

Michael (that turncoat) wants to be a good father to his son

Walter: Is just warming up to his biological father

Locke: Where do I start..the poor man? HIs father treated him like crap all his life ..he has some serious issues with that guy..even though he couldn't acually kill him, but got Sawyer to do it to get his revenge...I don't think that makes Sawyer feel any better but ..ok?

Ben: Hated his stupid *** father and became the father of the Others

Hurley: Never saw his father much ..his father left him high and dry..lied to him...perhaps that's why he needed psycological help.

Charlie: Became a drug addict cause his brother who he looked up to was into drugs....his brother feeling that the father loved Charlie more..Charlie misses his father...maybe they are together now :cry: Oh please bring Charlie back to us

Desmond..we don't know about his father but we do know about his finace's father who hates him and kept them apart.

Boone and Shannon: Lost their father in a car accident...Boone's father marrying Shannon's mother...Boone like a father or big brother to her..she relied on him to help her out..

Sun and Jin: Jin was embarassed his father came from such humble beginnings, but he has a serious issue with his father in law..and Sun has been protected yet stunted by her father

Rose and Bernard: We don't know yet

The beloved Sayid: We dont' know yet, I don't think..but he doesn't like authority figures..maybe the same thing..

Juliet: Who cares

The beautiful Claire: Father to her baby took off..and she never knew her father til her mother was in the car accident and didn't think much of him when she met him. She can't stand him..and told him to bugger off.

Alex..hates who she thought was her father, Ben..and her real father was killed although she has no clue.

Ana Lucia: We don't know if she knew her father and we don't care anyway..she was annoying ..glad she's gone to her heavenly Father..(if that what this is all about)

Perhaps that's it: Making amends to the Father figure in your life...

It seems as though as soon as they make amends for their lives..they die..or if they are dead..then they go to the great beyond..I'm not sure about that though..Sounds kinda corny and how do we explain Jack's flash forward unless it was a dream, but we didn't see him sleeping.

They might not know they are dead, that's what I thought at first. Apparantly the dead don't know they are dead.

Actually, she did. When she went to her father while escaping from the marshal, she asked him "why didn't you tell me Wayne was my real father" or something like that. She knew,had found out when making a scrap-book for her father's birthday and killed Wayne anyway. For her, Wayne wasn't her father, even though he was biologically.
