Hey there Andrea! I don't think I've had the chance to "meet" you on the LB yet (I haven't been around since the end of January or so, unfortunately), but I've read up on some of the archives and you are one rockin' chick. It's awesome that you spend so much of your time chillin with us :)
Ok, question: So, I know you grew up in NYC (right? Think I remember reading that somewhere), and I'm assuming that you now live in LA, since that's where most of the work is. I'm in the middle of picking a grad school to attend and I'm a life-long Ohio resident (unfortunately. bleck). Right now, my intention is to attend law school, but I'm also toying with the idea of giving screenwriting a shot -- the lawyer thing is a "safety," if you will -- and I know there are awesome law schools on both coasts and that LA would be the prime area to live for any chance I have at screenwriting, but NY is much much closer to home and the family. Since you're the only person I know of that has had the (awesome!) opportunity to live in both places, which do you prefer? I have the feeling that if I'm really driven I'll be able to get into the screenwriting business regardless, but I have no idea what the creative environment in LA is like (I'm assuming pretty cynical). Would it be a good idea for me to spend a few years in NY working on the craft, or should I try to jump into the LA scene asap?
Thanks again -- hope you're having a fabulous start to Spring!
